Alex Toth, 1928-2006

So sad. Though we all aspire to his greatness we are less with his passing.

I had the opportunity to meet with Alex a
couple of weeks before he died. We have
a couple of hours worth of tape with him.
He still seemed pretty sharp. Although he
wasn't in the best of shape, we all thought he
would be around a little longer. He even
spoke about wanting to travel a bit! I was
looking forward to visiting him again. A great
loss, but his work will continue to inspire.

Benton!! I am so crushed! I was hoping to be at some beter level that I always seem to be in so that I could feel good about introducing myself to him. He influenced me so much and was one of the few really great artists of the medium. I would love to hear about your visit with him. So much loss.
